Welcome, dear hunting lovers! Here we are, at the first hunting session in 2010, together with a few friends from The Eagle Hunting & Fishing Association. We hit the road in the early morning, going to Greaca hunting domain, near Greaca village, at approximately 30 kilometers from Bucharest. The hunting started as we arrived on the spot with a brief technical meeting, focused mainly on reminding the safety measures for fire guns handling and than on splitting the hunters in 2 groups, which were to proceed to the “chase” successively.
In January 2010 PVTV channel concluded a 3-year contract for the rights of broadcasting the most important international contest of carp fishing, WCC- the World Carp Classic. The contract comes as a result of the contest’s organizers’ satisfaction regarding the excellent cooperation established with PVTV channel during 2009, but it also represents a benefit for the worldwide producers of bait and carp fishing gear, who are interested in approaching the markets of Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia. WCC will organize in 2010 regional qualification competitions, the broadcasting rights for these in the above-mentioned countries have been also awarded to PVTV channel. Until the next edition of the WCC (5th -11th Sep. 2010), PVTV will offer you news related to the organizing of the forthcoming event. The association with the WCC is an honor for us and we hope that the 2010 edition will be one of the best organized and publicized world competitions so far.

When the atolls that make up the Maledives first came into our sight through the windows of our airplane, we had no idea what amazing underwater world awaits us below them. As anglers we knew we are going to see some amazing things in the days to come, but reality has surpassed our wildest expectations.
We took a water cab from Hulhule to Male, the capitol. The planes land on the worlds only airstrip that both starts and ends in water a mere 4 kilometers from Male.

Catching carp in cold waters is not an easy task, you have to prepare for it. You have to spend more time finding the fish, and choose your fishing spot carefully. When we decided to catch some carp on the Maconka reservoir with my friends Radu and Miki, the weather was cold, and the water temperature was below 10 celsius. My father decided to join us, altho he prefers to be sitting in a warm room with some tea and a book in this weather. He has never used boilies against carp so far, so it was another challenge for him. I think most anglers in our area know this lake by now, so i won’t have to introduce it.
The surroindings are beautifull, the fish plentyfull. We decided to stay for two nights, set up camp quickly and got down to business.

From all the fishing kinds and types, one of the simplest and yet most exciting is ice fishing. As anyone can guess from its name, primary ingredients are ice and a hole, made by axe, saw or a drill if you are feeling fancy.
A few years ago we had precious little to choose from in the drill department, but in the last years some world class russian and finnish products arrived on the market. I prefer the axe, as its easier to cut a large hole with it and you can clean the edges of all sharp and dangerous leftovers easier with it.
Apart from these necessary implements you will also need a mighty cold, where the ice is at least 10 centimeters thick. Good boots are a must and something to stop you from falling over after every step attached to the soles is a good idea.
